Are Chiropractic adjustments safe?

Yes, chiropractic adjustments are safe and effective. Like with any medical procedure, there are risks involved, but chiropractic care has a low-risk profile. The pressure applied during an adjustment is both controlled to the area where you’re experiencing pain or tension - it can be slightly uncomfortable, but never outwardly painful or unsafe.

How many appointments will I need?

Number of appointments needed will vary for each person. Initially, you may need more adjustments, and over time, we'll move to less appointments as your spine improves.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes, we accept all forms of private health insurance coverage. We also accept referrals from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans.

How much does an appointment cost?

We charge $85 for an initial consultation where our chiropractors will perform a comprehensive physical assessment to determine the condition of your spine and musculoskeletal system. After this initial consultation, each subsequent appointment will cost $75 where treatment will be applied based on a tailored plan.

Is Chiropractic care covered by Medicare?

Chiropractic treatment is generally not covered by Medicare. However, if you have experienced a complex chronic spinal condition over a period of 6 months, you may be eligible for an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan under Medicare that will cover chiropractic treatment. You will need to obtain a referral from your GP or family doctor in order to apply for the Enhanced Primary Care Plan.

Unsure if Chiropractic Can Help?

Chiropractors focus on the spine, muscles, and nerves, providing relief for various conditions. We assess each case individually and only proceed with treatment if we believe it will benefit you.

Treatment Techniques

Every body and spine is unique, so we tailor each treatment to your specific needs. At Spinal Works, we utilise the Gonstead System of Chiropractic, a manual adjusting technique suitable for all ages.

Adjustment Noises

The “popping” noise often heard during adjustments is caused by the release of air or bubbles from the joints, similar to opening a bottle cork.

Safety of Chiropractic

Chiropractic care has a low-risk profile, but like any medical procedure, there are risks. We conduct thorough examinations to minimise risks and discuss any concerns with you before treatment.

Expected Results

Before treatment, we discuss expected results with you to ensure transparency and manage expectations. We will only proceed with treatment if we believe we can help

Preventative Care

Even without pain, it’s essential to have your spine checked. Pain often emerges late, and early detection can prevent long-term damage.

Pain During Adjustments

Adjustments are typically not painful. Any discomfort is usually mild compared to existing pain.

Arthritis Treatment

Chiropractic care can benefit arthritis patients by improving joint function and reducing pain. Age is not a barrier to treatment.

Long-Term Commitment

Continual chiropractic care is a choice, not a requirement. Many choose to continue for ongoing wellness, similar to other healthy habits.

Financial Commitments

At Spinal Works, we believe in transparent fees and no locked-in financial commitments. Our goal is to achieve excellent results in minimal visits.
