Whether it be back pain, neck pain, headaches, poor posture, or an existing spinal condition like sciatica, our chiropractors can identify the cause of the pain, eliminate the pain, and ultimately treat the underlying problem.

Chiropractic care is all about realigning the joints and bones, relieving pain, and increasing the range of motion. A good chiropractor will not just treat the symptoms – but will address the root of the cause. At Spinal Works, our team are committed to providing lasting relief and improved well-being – which means we’ll always go the extra mile for our Townsville clients.

The Gonstead Technique

At Spinal Works Chiropractic Townsville, we are ambassadors of the Gonstead Chiropractic technique, renowned for its precision and effectiveness in assessing and adjusting the spine. The Gonstead technique focuses on restoring balance within the nervous system, rather than a general approach to spinal adjustments. This approach ensures the most accurate evaluation, finding the cause of your condition and the most effective correction. Our goal is to not just get you pain-free – but to keep you pain-free.

Conditions we treat

Chiropractic care will generally address the bones and joints, but can be used to address all kinds of different musculoskeletal pain:

Back pain

The leading cause of workplace disability in Australia, back pain is extremely prevalent and one of the main injuries we treat at Spinal Works. Chiropractic care can address pain, stiffness, and poor range-of-motion – three of the most common symptoms experienced with back pain. Back pain can be debilitating, but it can be successfully treated with the right expertise.

Neck & shoulder pain

Most neck pain is born out of work, sports, or poor posture. As we spend more time looking at our computers and phones than ever before, neck pain is only becoming more common across different age groups. Spinal Works will find the main cause of your neck and shoulder pain, manually manipulate (massage) the area to relieve pain, and provide a treatment plan that corrects misalignments.

Headaches

Tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, stress headaches, migraines and TMJ – all of these conditions can be successfully managed with the right chiropractor. Chiropractic care for headaches will be tailored to your concerns, lifestyles, and, ultimately, what needs to be done to release the spinal stress and see you headache-free.

Hip & sciatica pain

Hip pain is most commonly caused by sciatica, injury, and poor posture. Spinal Works can address each of these concerns to restore motion, increase flexibility, and alleviate pain to the hip joint and surrounding area.

With the right tools, acute, chronic, and severe sciatica can be successfully treated and managed – chiropractic care is best known for effectively relieving individuals of sciatica pain and symptoms. A chiro can realign the spine and joints to alleviate discomfort, reducing the pressure placed on the sciatic nerve.

Knee pain

Whether it be from a sustained injury or an ongoing condition, chiropractic care can do wonders for ongoing knee pain. Soft tissue manipulation can alleviate swelling and inflammation, while adjustments can address joint issues in the knee area. Spinal Works will conduct an initial assessment to understand the cause of the pain and provide a tailored treatment plan to restore mobility and reduce discomfort.

Disc bulge/herniation

A bulging disc or herniated disc can be incredibly painful. A bulge occurs when the inner portions of the intervertebral disc begin to protrude from the outer wall – causing pain in the back, neck, and even lower legs. A herniated disc is different in that it’s when the nucleus breaks through the annulus – while a bulging disc remains intact. A herniated disc is more likely to cause pain, but both can be extremely uncomfortable. Both conditions can happen anywhere in the spine and are very treatable when working with the right chiropractor.
